Smiles to Make You Smile!

Happy, Silly, Crazy, Funny, Goofy, Wild...never a dull moment! Love it!!

Countdown to Christmas

On Wednesday, the 3 big kids made paper chains to countdown the days until Christmas. They were so serious when they were picking which strip of paper they wanted to add to their chain. Big decisions for such little kids!

Didn't they turn out cute? They each took theirs home so they can tear off one ring each day. When the rings are gone, it's Christmas!

If you're interested in making your own, I had a hard time deciding how big to cut my strips. I ended up going with 1 1/2 inches wide and 8 inches long. It worked out really well. By the way, only 22 days until Christmas!! :)

Welcome, Grayson!

Today was Grayson's first day at daycare. It was so nice to have a little one in the house again. Kids grow up fast. Before we know it, this little guy will be running around with a car in each hand with his daycare friends.

Meeting his new buddies!

Grayson slept a lot today. He was pretty cozy in this little bed. He was zipped in at first to keep him away from curious fingers and slobbery kisses. The kids ended up being very good with him and listened when they were asked to not touch the baby. Actually, the 3 "big kids" stood around him and told each other not to touch him over and over. I am surprised Grayson could sleep with all the instructions being given right next to him. :)

Isn't he all boy? I told his daddy today that if he were wearing a dress, he would look like a boy in girl's clothes. Cute little man!

Precious little guy! Did you notice that he ended up in a new outfit? He gave me a little "surprise" during his first diaper change. It ended with both of us needing new clothes and a blanket getting a trip through the washer and dryer. Stinker!

Snow has arrived.

The snow is here, and I think it's going to be sticking around a while. I guess we really can't complain too much. It is December 1st. Compared to last year, this winter is wonderful! During snack this afternoon, the three older kids each got a blue piece of paper and a white crayon to draw their own snowy picture. They did a nice job!

Thankful

I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving. I am so thankful for the time I spend with the children every single day! Thank you for sharing them with me. I know what it's like to be a working parent, and it's very hard. I feel very fortunate to work in my home with my children and do all I can to make your kids feel at home with me during the time they're apart from you. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!

The day before Thanksgiving, we did an art project and Grace brought a cute snack. I traced the kids' hands on brown paper to make the turkey body. Then, we used glue dots to put on the feathers and beak, and drew the eye with a marker. Sorry, no pictures of the progress. I didn't have a free hand!

L to R: Gannon, Grace, Hudson

Grace and her mom made these cute turkeys out of cookies. The kids thought they were pretty special and very delicious!! Thank you, Grace!!

New Toys

We got some new toys that used to belong to some of Hudson's cousins. The McDonald's kitchen, BBQ grill and racetrack are a big hit with all the kids. I have eaten way too many plastic cheeseburgers!! :)

Gannon's Day

Gannon got to choose which toys we took out into the living room this morning. He chose cars and blocks. The boys enjoyed driving the little cars all over and built some big towers. The girls didn't seem too interested and played more in the bedroom with the books, dolls and tools.

The birthday boy!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Gannon!!!

Today is Gannon's birthday! We had a fun day and let him make all the choices about what to play and eat. He felt pretty important!

Grace brought this picture for Gannon. How sweet! We used it as our centerpiece on the table with balloons today.

Hudson helped me pick out a balloon for Gannon. He thought he'd like Lightning McQueen. I think it was a good choice. It was the first thing Gannon saw when he got to our house. I hope he had fun playing with it at home!

Gannon chose grilled cheese, pineapple and cantaloupe for lunch. Pretty odd that he'd choose cantaloupe since he doesn't care for it. I put 3 pieces on his plate and he hid them in the pouch on his bib. :)

After naps, we had a little celebration. Gannon brought cupcakes for everyone. As you will see, they were very delicious!

Singing Happy Birthday to Gannon.

Two candles...what a big boy!

A little help blowing out the candles.

We had a fun day celebrating Gannon!! We hope he had a fun day and enjoys his birthday party this weekend!
